Free Debt Management Program |

A free debt management program is beneficial because making smart financial choices isn't always easy. According to surveys conducted by the National Council on Economic Education and the Jump$tart Coalition, young people are lacking a fundamental understanding of how our economy works and are in dire need of basic money management and financial skills, such as the free debt management program offered by CCCS of Southwestern Virginia. Learning economics is important as it offers students a basis for principled reasoning about a wide range of personal, civic, and work-related problems. But many American students complete 12 years of schooling in which little or no attention is paid to economics. While 96 percent of Americans think economics should be taught in the schools, only 13 states require students to take an economics course in order to graduate; about three-fourths of the states have some standards for economics (Clow, 1999). Unfortunately, these numbers mean that many consumers are left to learn their financial lessons on their own. A free debt management program is only a phone call away.
The lack of credit education has later ramifications. If you have ever experienced financial difficulty, you know that debt affects more than your bottom line number. Financial stress can also affect the really important things in life. In fact, the stress can be so severe that it sometimes forces consumers to seek solutions, too often ending in bankruptcy court. If you need financial counseling, please call us to learn more about our free debt management program. |
